Michael Henry, DBAR (ABD), MBA, CAE

Mobilizing stakeholders to support positive change has been a cornerstone of Michaelís successful career. His experience affords clients a window into the workings of government, politics, advocacy and lobbying.† Michael provides clients with strategic advice and planning in community, government and corporate relations, and legislative and regulatory analysis. He has provided leadership training to many organizations, and has worked in the fields of mental health and rural community development.

Michael is currently serving as Associate Dean, School of Business, Grant MacEwan University. His teaching has focused on Canadian Business and Organizational Behaviour. He also served as Chair of the Bachelor of Commerce and Management, University Transfer Program, School of Business, Grant MacEwan College.

Michael is completing his Doctorate in Business Administration Research (DBAR), with all but his dissertation (ABD), which he expects to complete in 2011. He has a Masterís in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Alberta, and is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) with the Canadian Society of Association Executives. His research interests include organizational behaviour, organizational learning, adaptive management, international business education and succession planning.

Michael Henry's career includes ten years as an executive director of human service agencies (Canadian Mental Health Association, Alberta North Central Region Director, Family and Community Support Services, Lacombe) followed by ten years in public life, during which he served as President of the Liberal Party of Alberta, Chief of Staff of the Liberal Caucus, and MLA for Edmonton Centre in the Provincial Legislature (1993-1997).
